Nursing Tops, Maternity Blouses & Shirts
We've got the perfect maternity top for you, whether you’re looking for a chic maternity button-down for work or the perfect tee, our maternity tops make pregnancy styling effortless. Bonus: many of our tops are nursing shirts, so they go the distance, taking you from baby bump to the third trimester and beyond. Each top can mix and match back to your favorite HATCH bottoms and leggings for a totally put-together look.

Being pregnant may feel like you need to “take a break” from the chic clothes that live in your wardrobe (it’s not you, clothes, it’s us). But at Hatch, we don’t see this as a loss at all. In fact, we see it as a brand new opportunity — to do some shopping.
We’re here to make it easy (and fun) to pick out the clothes that make you feel stylish, practical, and ready to unleash your mama bear.
For the next nine months, your tops will need some hidden superpowers and special adjustments to fit every one of your needs (and fit your growing body).
Let’s chat. Here’s our guide to the best tops for mamas and mamas-to-be.
Consider Size
So, what size should you wear in maternity clothing? Luckily, this is a pretty easy task (unlike picking a name for your little one).
When shopping for maternity clothing, just buy your regular size. For example, a size small in women’s clothing should correspond to a small in maternity clothing. If you’re reluctant to give up a sale on your favorite designer’s latest line that is not maternity wear (and we totally get that), consider going up one to two sizes for it to fit during pregnancy.
Signs that it's time to invest in maternity clothing include a tight and uncomfortable bra, pants that just won’t button, and a shirt that rides up in a way that you do not appreciate.
Check out our Easy Access Nursing Henley top for the perfect fit. It is flowy, made to fall perfectly over your stomach without constriction. It is lightweight and perfect for all trimesters, even featuring a front placket for postpartum breastfeeding possibilities. Plus, it’s machine washable because we know that hand washing is not ranking high on “Things I Need To Do ASAP.”
Our Early Days Nursing Sweatshirt has a v-neck for easy nursing and luxurious Tencel fabric for optimal coziness. Our Savannah Maternity Top is a white button-down short-sleeve that can quickly transition from workwear to a feeding time ensemble.
Nursing Features
Once your baby arrives, that baby will be hungry and will not wait politely for a waiter to stop by. At Hatch, we know that Fed Is Best. But, if you’re choosing to exclusively breastfeed, pump, formula feed, or any and all combinations, you need to have options.
For mothers who choose to nurse, you need a top that won’t slow you down (unlike those high heels that look great but feel… ugh). Soft fabrics are critical: We’re talking rayon, cotton, nylon, elastane, even cashmere.
Here are the facts: Nursing bras aren’t just for nursing. They are also popular among expectant and new mothers. Nursing bras often come with built-in breast pads that help prevent any unwanted milk leaks during the day.
Comfort Is Key
We’re here to help with the fashion advice and maternity facts you need.
We consider it our job and honor to give all the tips and tricks mamas need. Looking for that oh-so-delectable lotion for your belly? On the hunt for a maternity dress for date night? Need advice on literally everything else?
We’ve got that (and you)!
We collected all the resources and essentials you need so you can focus on the stuff that truly matters — you and your growing family.
