Rethinking your wardrobe now that you’re pregnant? We’ve got the best jumpsuits for a cozy, easy, accessible look.
How to rock a Maternity Jumpsuit
After all of the initial excitement settles, one of the more confusing moments in your pregnancy is deciding how you’ll style yourself going forward. Suddenly, those jeans you usually rock might not have such a little give in the waist anymore.
And once you start growing, you might not want to waddle around in your favorite sky-high heels. And that tried-and-true jogging bra might be hurting more than helping.
Just remember, these new transitions are not restrictions! Your body is beautiful in all the ways, and fashion is worth indulging in regardless of how big or small your bump is.
Remember to give yourself time. Everything’s an adjustment, but we promise that once you get comfortable with all of the changes, you might even have a great time showing off that cute bumps of yours.
Coping with Change
First thing’s first. Acceptance, mama. Try to accept how your body will transform. A lot of women feel conflicted about their changing bodies, as though they have to exchange their past wardrobe or sacrifice their personal style. Rest assured that you don’t have to sacrifice anything to get that perfect fit, and especially not your passion for fashion.
One word of warning goes for ultra-tight garments. Overly tight clothes can harbor bacteria, especially in the pubic area. To avoid yeast infections and low blood flow, try to stick with loose choices and breathable materials.
Timing is Everything
When it comes to pregnancy, perhaps the only thing that is predictable is how your stomach might grow. If you’re purchasing or putting together an outfit for an event months or weeks in the future, approximate how large your baby (and belly) will be. An event that happens when you’re further along will call for flowier or more relaxed items.
Material Matters
Speaking of fabric, it’s time to look at the logistics a little closer. Soft fabrics like merino wool, cotton, polyester, and more are great for maternity styles because they provide room to grow while allowing expansive movement and flexibility.
Any mother who has experienced the joys (and perils) of pregnancy knows that these are essential to staying comfortable. Having some extra breathing room in all areas is a win-win.
Why Jumpsuits?
The beauty of a jumpsuit is that it is a true one-and-done: it’s literally an entire outfit wrapped up in one piece of clothing. It’s also incredibly easy to throw on and requires minimal planning. It can be accessorized with cardigans, jackets, jewelry, or a variety of shoes but can pull a whole look together on its own.
On the days when you're too tired to deal, a jumpsuit is accessible and simple to dress up or down on a whim. It’s also fitted enough that it can accentuate your gorgeous bump without being restrictive.
Our Options
At Hatch Collection, we design clothes for pregnant mamas with all of your needs in mind. Our material is cozy and chic and makes you feel like your best, most badass self. That’s right, we’ve got you covered for that wedding you’re excited about and the Tuesday night movie marathon you can’t wait for, too.
The Zadie Overall is an excellent jumpsuit choice for those lazy days. It’s also perfect for a stylish on-the-go look, whether running errands with your other little ones or relaxing in your backyard. It is super soft and easy to nurse in, thanks to its straps that can easily adjust and be unbuttoned. It is also complete with patch pockets everywhere you look for, carrying around all of your mommy essentials.
The Body Rib Unitard Short is an option for warmer weather and comes with built-in shorts. This adds a new level of flexibility to a classic look. With a stunning juniper green hue, it is knitwear at its finest. It also compresses your body without being too restrictive. If needed, it can expand twice its size on the rack so it can be worn and re-worn all throughout your nine months.
Jump for Joy
As your body grows, so should your self-love! Clothing is just one way to maintain and express your sense of self during this incredible time in your life. So go ahead, enjoy.
